Our community believes the SSF is the heart of the Immigrants communities – not just a place for help, but a center for the life of our community and a home for people displaced from their homes and often living on the periphery of their new hometown of Fargo-Moorhead.

The mission of South Sudanese Foundation- is to be a life-changing, transformative community where everyone can encounter reminders of love for our community and move forward together in our home of Fargo-Moorhead. We support each other to ensure that everyone has what they need to learn and thrive. This is a community where people who have experienced emptiness, war zones, confusion and misery can know healing, fulfillment, joy, love and faith.
Within our organization, we strive to create a culture of learning so our community can keep up with the demands of our 21st century educational system and economy.
We strive to connect families with economic opportunities and provide options for learning and development to stabilize our community.
Activities facilitated by our organization include afterschool programming, English language learning, job training, personal financial workshops, Dinka language and cultural programs.
Interaction between elders and youth, youth enrichment. Our one-on-one tutoring program also helps them to grow and become a successful citizen of tomorrow.
We organize field trips and a summer camp to inspire collaboration and creativity .
We offer bible studies, social events, civic engagement and citizenship classes.Volunteers provide leadership, host worship and facilitate community programs.
We manage the church’s operation, establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with diverse leaders and communities in our area and develop plans to address challenges within our community.
Our one-on-one tutoring program constitutes a weekly platform for all immigrants – young and old – to come together in a social setting to learn. One-on-one tutoring is wholly secular in nature. Read More
