About Us

Our community believes the SSF is the heart of the Immigrants communities – not just a place for help, but a center for the life of our community and a home for people displaced from their homes and often living on the periphery of their new hometown of Fargo-Moorhead.

A church and a community organization with 501(c)(3) designation

We have 10 board members who set the organization’s vision and mission and strategic goals.

  • While English-speaking communities in Fargo-Moorhead have a range of organizations to host and facilitate their community interactions and support their needs - religious organizations, service organizations, nonprofits, arts and cultural institutions - our South Sudanese community interacts with the church as its primary institution.

Our Mission

The mission of South Sudanese Foundation- is to be a life-changing, transformative community where everyone can encounter reminders of love for our community and move forward together in our home of Fargo-Moorhead. We support each other to ensure that everyone has what they need to learn and thrive. This is a community where people who have experienced emptiness, war zones, confusion and misery can know healing, fulfillment, joy, love and faith.

Within our organization, we strive to create a culture of learning so our community can keep up with the demands of our 21st century educational system and economy.


Connecting Families

We strive to connect families with economic opportunities and provide options for learning and development to stabilize our community.


Activities and after School programming

Activities facilitated by our organization include afterschool programming, English language learning, job training, personal financial workshops, Dinka language and cultural programs.

Youth Enrichment

Interaction between elders and youth, youth enrichment. Our one-on-one tutoring program also helps them to grow and become a successful citizen of tomorrow.


Field trips

We organize field trips and a summer camp to inspire collaboration and creativity .


Social Activities

We offer bible studies, social events, civic engagement and citizenship classes.Volunteers provide leadership, host worship and facilitate community programs.

Building Relationships

We manage the church’s operation, establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with diverse leaders and communities in our area and develop plans to address challenges within our community.


Our one-on-one tutoring program constitutes a weekly platform for all immigrants – young and old – to come together in a social setting to learn. One-on-one tutoring is wholly secular in nature. Read More
